BEYOND THE CURTAINS

KAEDIN

STRONG STAGE PRESENCE

Hi! I'm Kaedin, and I'm excited to share with you how DramaWay Productions has made an amazing impact on my life. I've been part of DramaWay for about five years now and  it's been such a great experience for me. DramaWay has, without a doubt, helped me become more confident, especially when it comes to performing on stage as well as speaking and performing in public. All of their rehearsals with scripts and annual arts Showcase performances have helped me increase my memorization skills and really strengthened my stage presence. I’m always so excited for the opportunity to perform live on stage at the Papermill Theatre. This year I am proud to be performing the sneaky role of the Joker. So watch out as I plan to blow you all away when I take the stage as the Joker with my trickiness and villainous ways!

My friends and family often say I’m the “life of the party” and I am convinced I’ve learned some of that from my friends at DramaWay. Recently, I had the opportunity to visit CTV’s “The Good Stuff with Mary Berg”. Mary Berg and I had a super fun photoshoot and I had the opportunity to use all of the poses and character work I learned in my DramaWay sessions! DramaWay has also helped me feel confident to assert myself and become involved on a weekly basis in the community. I stay active all the time!

After I graduated from Erindale Secondary School, I also graduated from the CICE Program at Humber College. I continue to develop my teamwork skills particularly when I play basketball as a Special Olympian. As one of the committed and dedicated Ambassadors of DramaWay and ThriveAbility Community Connections, I have the privilege of representing both  organizations and spreading awareness about the importance of inclusion and acceptance. I also work at the ThriveAbility Cafe, where I get to interact with members of the community every day. I'm also a dedicated member of my local church, West Edge Community Church where I'm enrolled in a Discipleship Course and serve as a Greeter, welcoming and assisting fellow churchgoers.

As a lover of theatre, film and the arts, I have experienced so much being that I am also a world traveller. I’ve been to many places all over the world, including the UK, St. Maarten, all over Canada and around the States. When I’m not on the road, I also manage to take part in lots of programs, but my favourite by far is  DramaWay! I have always had really amazing interactions with my fellow actors and the facilitators and volunteers that help run the arts programming. I really feel that the skills I've learned at DramaWay have helped me to excel in my community involvement and made me a better self-advocate. Under the guidance of Danielle Strnad, I've become a solid performer and a dedicated member of the community. I am so grateful and can’t wait to see what the future has in store for me!
