EXPLORING MY PASSIONS

Hi there everyone, I'm Andrew C., and I'm very happy to share with you how DramaWay Productions has been a really exciting part of my life.

I've been a part of DramaWay for over 24 years now; hard to believe I’ve been there along with our Founder and Executive Director since we began back at 20 Spadina in a small boardroom. DramaWay isn't just a place I go to do classes, it’s like my second family; my home away from home.  We are a very supportive, close knit community of actors, friends, volunteers, and facilitators that help each other out in many different ways. I am grateful to DramaWay for all the ways it’s helped me become who I am today. They have supported me through good times and bad, and I am eternally grateful to them for this support.

In addition to being a performer, I'm also a longtime volunteer ambassador for DramaWay. I have been a performer in the Theatre, Dance, and Song Writing programs here at DramaWay.  I’ve also attended many workshops and camps and so many events with them over the years. I even got to present with several of our other ambassadors at HOK here in Toronto. I have played a wide range of exciting roles in our Annual Showcase events. Last year, I played the coveted role of Dorothy in “Adventures From the Yellow Brick Road'', and this year I will be taking on the role of Robo-Butler in the “Superheroes, Unite” performance! I’ve performed on stage, on camera and in the community consistently. I love being part of inclusive arts programming as well as taking on the exciting and fun duties of being a dedicated ambassador! I love it here so much, I made history as the first Performer to create awards for our Team Facilitators because I believe they are all so talented, I believe they deserve the recognition.

Recently, I got connected to OWLware Ltd. through DramaWay, and graduated from the Food Services and Hospitality Leadership Program, where I was then hired as an Office Cleaner at OWLware Ltd. and as a Barista/Cleaner at Les Moulins La Fayette bakery! Over the years, I’ve also been involved with Special Olympics and Track 3.

My time at DramaWay has helped my confidence grow as well as my circle of friends! I am so grateful for all the friends I’ve made over the years. Thanks to all the skills I’ve practiced in DramaWay classes, I’ve  become a more confident performer, improved my communication skills and even become an expert puppeteer under the guidance of Morgan Joy and Bobby Knauff.

Since joining DramaWay, I've felt that I’ve grown a lot as a person and have cultivated lots of important relationships with fellow performers as well as DramaWay Facilitators. I have been a valuable helper to new teachers and volunteers and I am also an advocate for my fellow actors, dancers and singers. I feel really proud of my role at DramaWay and it’s important to me that everyone feels welcome and supported. DramaWay has given me the opportunity to shine, to grow, and to make a difference in the world around me. I love DramaWay!
