This program, developed and created by DramaWay, leading provider of inclusive creative arts programming since 1999, is ideally suited to clients ages 15 or older who are working towards independent living and developing leadership fundamentals. It blends drama, dance and visual art in a fun, movement-based learning environment, allowing participants to release expressive energy in our active multi-arts environment with our qualified Creative Arts Facilitator. Participants will gain confidence as they improve their social and life skills while also developing body awareness and performance skills as they take part in a wide array of drama and dance activities as well as small visual arts projects. Using topics outlined by registrants prior to the commencement of the program, sessions will also aim to incorporate, promote and develop:

  1. Conversation & Active Listening Skills
  2. Performance Skills
  3. Personal Safety
  4. Maintaining and Building Friendships
  5. Effective Decision-Making
  6. Being a Self-Advocate

This program is most beneficial to individuals who can participate fairly independently. If one-on-one support is required for attendant care (lifting, eating, toileting or administration of medications), it is the responsibility of the parent/guardian or appointed attendant to fulfill these duties. At the time of registering, please notify our DramaWay staff if you will be sending a Support Caregiver with the participant or if you require further assistance in securing one.
