LeadershipWorks is designed to build life-enhancing independent living skills. Every year our curriculum is customized based on selected topics set out in self-assessment sheets completed by participants and their guardians. Using various drama activities such as role-playing, storytelling, physical theatre exercises and group discussions, participants will explore topics such as:
- Stress management
- Friendships and social skills
- Conversational and active listening skills
- Public speaking
- Manners, posture and hygiene
- Personal safety (ex: dealing with strangers, salespersons, panhandlers)
- Organizational skills: how to plan your daily schedule
- Hobbies: developing independent recreational activities
- Healthy food choices and basic food preparation
- Decision-making
